
Peter Gehler is Professor of Machine Learning Engineering and Technology Transfer at the Tübingen AI Center, where he bridges AI research with real-world impact. He earned his PhD in 2009 after beginning his career at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics, and has held academic positions at ETH Zurich, TU Darmstadt, the Max Planck Institutes in Saarbrücken and Tübingen, and as full professor at University of Würzburg. In 2017, he co-founded Amazon's Research Center in Tübingen and joined Amazon as a Senior Applied Scientist. More recently, he served as Senior Principal Applied Scientist at Zalando, working on generative AI for fashion and recommendation systems. He regularly serves as area chair for all top computer vision and machine learning conferences.
